Let me introduce myself

Hello and welcome to my blog!

For my first post, I thought I would write a little bit about my background so that you would know what to expect when browsing through my blog. I absolutely love writing, however finding the time can be quite difficult. If I am not out shopping or socialising with friends, then I am either working, designing, sewing or planning my next new and exciting project!

I am twenty one years young and based in Hertfordshire, but spend pretty much all of my time in London. Fortunately, I am a twenty minute train ride away, taking me straight into King's Cross station. Besides the expensive train costs and regular cancellations or delays, I love being in London.

Since the age of sixteen, I have worked in the City for a couple of renowned bridal designers and luxury fashion designers, as well as taking part in various internships. Not only have I been so incredibly lucky to be able to work there, but it is also a place where I have created some of my best memories. There have been many afternoon tea experiences, hotel night stays, shopping trips, lunch or dinner dates, theatre and museum visits, and of course drunken nights (I'm just being honest)! If you're in need of any suggestions when visiting London then I'm your girl.

October of this year, I will be going into the third and final year of my Fashion Design degree at Middlesex University. In all honesty, I. Am. Scared. Not only is the amount of work coming my way daunting enough, but the idea of graduating next summer and having to decide what I want to do with my life is seriously frightening. However, this and my rambling can be saved for another future blog post.

I have a couple of aims through starting this blog and my main one is to just hopefully help other creatives; whether it be individuals who want to know how to get into the fashion industry, already studying fashion design students, or supporting new and small businesses. I want to share my experiences so far, the do's and the dont's within the fashion and bridal industry, work, studies and personal life, because so far it has been one hell of a journey! I want to be able to convey how unsustainable and unethical the Fashion industry can be, as well as expressing the importance of networking and collaborating. I also aim to share with you the process of setting up a small online business and just being a woman with an entrepreneurial spirit. There will probably be a couple of posts showing you the best places to visit in London, mini travel diaries, bridal advice; literally anything and everything.

It would be an absolute pleasure to have you embark on this journey with me and I hope I can help as many people as I can.

With Love,
Lucy x
